It’s like a book club but for games! Every month we will choose a game to play through as a community and discuss at pre-determined spots as a group. We will meet in Discord at the half-way point to chat about the game openly.
For the month of October, our first game will be Dead Space.
Dead Space is a 2008 survival horror video game, developed by EA Redwood Shores and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The debut entry in the Dead Space series, it was released in North America, Europe and Australia. The player controls engineer Isaac Clarke as he navigates the spaceship and fights the Necromorphs, while struggling with growing psychosis. Gameplay has Isaac exploring different areas through its chapter-based narrative, solving environmental puzzles and finding ammunition and equipment to survive.
Dead Space is availabe on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One (backwards compatible). It has a How Long to Beat time of 11 hours for the main story. There are a total of 12 Chapters. We’ll be checking in and discussing the game on our Discord Channel throughout the month of October. We’d love to have you join us there, or on Twitter using the hashtag #WDGRGameClub
The Episode 50 festivities conclude with two podcast roundtable games!
Damien, Dave, Vic and Vency join Will and Drew for a game of Metacritic Madness and a new game called Spot the Imposter, where Drew reads off a name of a video game character and the contestants must identify it as real or fake.
