Hi folks. It’s Monday, which means it’s time for more video game music! This week’s #MusicMonday, is the heavenly track “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”. I immediately fell in love with this song within the first hour of the game. I honestly thought to myself, if Heaven is a real place, this must be it, when I heard it for the first time. Over the weekend I decided to put my own twist on the choral/choir version of the piece, to try and capture the ethereal quality of the in game version. Be careful, as it might put you to sleep. In a good way!
It’s like a book club but for games! Every month we will choose a game to play through as a community and discuss at pre-determined spots as a group. We will meet in Discord at the half-way point to chat about the game openly.
The game is set in the year 1912 and follows its protagonist, former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, who is sent to the airborne city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for most of her life. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two become involved with the city’s warring factions: the nativist and elite Founders that rule Columbia and strive to keep its privileges for White Americans, and the Vox Populi, underground rebels representing the underclass of the city. During this conflict, Booker learns that Elizabeth possesses strange powers to manipulate “Tears” in the space-time continuum that ravage Columbia, and soon discovers her to be central to the city’s dark secrets.
Bioshock Infinite is available on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One/Xbox Series (backwards compatible), and Nintendo Switch. It is also part of Bioshock: The Collection, which is also available on most current platforms. It has a How Long to Beat time of 11.5 hours for the main story. There are a total of 40 Chapters. At the end of the month we’ll be chatting about the game in Discord using Discord’s new stages!
We’ll be checking in and discussing the game on our Discord Channel throughout the month of April. We’d love to have you join us there, or on Twitter using the hashtag #WDGRGameClub!
